I have competition...

So, after we got the Christmas tree out the door and down to the curb, we flopped on the couch to survey the mess that was left. I had my hand casually draped on Roper's shoulder. At this point Katie asked to come up on the couch. Roper reached down and lifted her. She leaned against him and pointedly pushed my hand off his shoulder, then tucked herself into the crook of his arm.

Sigh! She loves her Daddy!

I totally understand. I've been persona non grata for the past 3 months or so. If I so much as touch Peter, Alex flies into a temper and yells, "Go Way! My Daddy!" through the tears.

As a Daddy's Girl myself that mental picture pleased me. Trust me, though, there are things Mama can do that Daddy can't, which makes it all work out in the end. ;-)

"My DADDY!" I used to totally freak my niece out by saying "My sister" and she'd insist "MY MOMMY!" or "MY Mom!" and she'd insist "MY GRANDMA!"... Little girls are very possessive (I haven't found that to be the case with little boys)

Oh, I don't know about that. My son used to respond to overtures by pointing and saying "MY Mommy is RIGHT THERE!"
