Well, crap!

The votes are in and the WorldCon in '08 will be in Denver.

I had good friends on both the Chicago and Columbus bids and I liked the venues in both cities.
Denver has a spread out site and apparently is not across Labor day weekend, yet again.

I expect we will go and we will deal, but if I have to make a choice between the hotel near the convention center and the hotel where the filking is I expect In won't get much singing done.

So, I'm gonna go out and support the Hell out of Kansas City in '09. We haven't had a WorldCon in the Midwest since... um... Chicago in 2000.
