FkO was a good time. Had charming conversations. Heard many good songs. Amazingly, really enjoyed 9 1/2 hour drive home. Didn't sing much but did manage to play "Request" for Judith. The chorus for that song came out of a couple of conversations she and I have had over the state of filk. (Judith, if you read this, the words and chords are at
http://www.filker.com/songs/Request.html ) (Well, even if you don't read this they are anyway, but I will have to find another way to let you know.)
Three things stand out.
I got lots of hugs. I did not come from a hugging family, hugging is a bit strange to me. So if I seemed a bit stiff, that's why. Don't get the idea that I didn't appreciate them.
I was about to do something stupid and a friend gently talked me out of it. Thanks, Son.
Something happened that previously would have sent me into a major Sulk. Instead I chose my attitude and did something about it. (Thanks, Kathleen)
Life lessons. Gotta love 'em!
