Yesterday, I felt like crap. I got nothing done.
I was grouchy. I was listless. (I fell asleep in my chair when the girls and I took a break to watch the new Dinosaur Train.) I munched through the day.
Today, on an hour's less sleep I did five loads of laundry, put new slider feet on two of the kitchen chairs, swept, picked up a bit.
I ate responceablly. And I have enough energy left to post here.

The difference? Today, I drove through Burger King after dropping Katie at school and got a coffee, (small, one cream.)
If it stays at one small coffee in the AM I'm good with it. But I have a history of developing a tolerance to medication. I don't want to caffiene myself to the jitters like I did when I worked at the bank and it was there, free, all day.

We'll see.

People also just have good days and bad days sometimes. So the coffee might not be required.

At any rate, I'm glad you had a better day, whatever the cause.

You and me both. Interestingly, I spent that same day fighting a migraine and getting just as much nothing done.

The key to coffee is making a daily ritual of it, and keeping to the ritual. If you brew it yourself, make only enough for the morning and no more. I allow myself two cups of coffee at breakfast to reboot from my customary fragmented night--and then stop there. No more caffeine until the next morning. Jitters happen when you can just toss back another cup anytime you want.

I don't blame you for sleeping thru Dinosaur Train. I watched 3 episodes of it today. I'd rather do scrub floors.

I rather like it. It's not as good as Sid The Science Kid, but it is a lot less annoying than Dora or Diego or, Ghod help me, Caillou.

I cannot stand Franklin, either the original or the terribly rendered computer gen reboot.

I find that caffeine is best when it isn't a ritual at all, but an every now and then "extra", so it does work when desperately needed.

Awhile ago, I cut back to 2 cans of Cola a day: one in the morning, one in the afternoon. I find I can hold to that most days, but if I grab a 20 oz. in the morning instead, I start craving more as soon as I finish it.
