Hooray For Compromise...

One of my favorite comfort foods has long been tuna caserole. The really basic stuff, tuna, noodles, and cream of mushroom soup all mixed together.
Trouble is, Roper didn't like it.
Off and on I have tried different ways to make it but none of them were quite right.
I think we have it this time.
Rotini noodles, bioled and drained.
Solid white tuna, drained.
About half a cup of Newman's Own italian dressing.
Shredded parmesan and motsarella cheeses.
Mix it all up and top with crumbled fried onions.
bake 'till heated through
serve with a nice salad and garlic bread.

Yum!

More than compromise; quite nice cookery!

My secret shame is that the version I grew up with used potato chips instead of noodles, and canned peas, and I thought it was the best thing....till I tried to serve it to Glenn...

Sounds good - kind of a thick tangy version. :)

I've had to reach a similar compromise with Dave. Our family version was rice + carrots and celery bits (plus the tuna and cr of mushroom soup). He hated the veggies and wasn't wild about the rice. So I make the basic soup plus tuna part and divide it - his part gets noodles, mine gets the rice and veggies. A bit more work but we both get something we like.
