I'd Like To See...

janeg wondered, recently, why the writers/creators of The Big Bang Theory haven't been guests at a con. They seem to understand and appreciate nerds and fannish types. It would be interesting to hear their insights and share the larger fannish world with them. (More than just Trekkies and Comix fans.)
I'd also like to see the creators of Phineas and Ferb introduced to a con of a more literary bent. I really enjoyed the recent episode, Nerds of a Feather, and plan on nominating it for a Hugo, but I would like them to see that there is more to fans,(and kids like P & F and their friends,) than wearing elaborate costumes and scouring the dealers' room for obscure memoribilia.

So, who would YOU like to see at a con?

FWIW - the creator/producer and head writer (two people - but the creator also writes for the show) are regulars at Comic-Con.

But it would be nice for them to get exposed to literary cons as well, since I'm pretty sure the characters would know of them.

They were asked about setting (and possibly filming) an episode at Comic-Con this year, and didn't completely rule out the setting (and even got an offer for authentic props and set dressing) but pointed out that as a multi-camera studio bound show actual filming at the event, or even at the convention center, would be well beyond their comfort zone.

Not a con, per se, but I did meet and talk with Chuck Lorre (creator of The Big Bang Theory) at the Nebula Awards Weekend, where he was the keynote speaker last year.

Me. And my wife.

Given the assumption that we were already there, I'd be more interested in seeing people I used to see at cons when I went to cons than almost any celebrity. But if you can book Charles Schulz I am so there.

I should add that I too don't go to cons for the media celebrities - but many gencons bring in media celebrities and I'd sure see Big Bang celebs if I was there anyway. And its writers would be a draw.

FYI, since I made the original comment, Jim Parsons won an Emmy for his portrayal of Sheldon!

I don't expect to ever get to ComicCon. I gather Fan Expo this past weekend in Toronto was very large, and I didn't know a single person remotely interested in going. It's a different world; I'm not lining up for an autograph!
