Roper decided we should take advantage of it and get Katie some new pants to replace the ones that show too much ankle. (Capris are fine in the warmer months, but less than useful in January.)
We set out for Gurnee Mills, (Our "local" outlet mall), to have lunch, shop and ride the carousel.
Instead of the food court we had actual food on actual plates at the Rainforrest Cafe. The girls were facinated by the aquariums and the animatronic animals scattered about. I wish it were a little less noisy, but the food was good.
Then we stopped for a ride on the carousel before trooping off to the Carter's store. I sat in the back at the leggo table (Rummaging through my purse for the punch card,)while Roper and Katie shopped. Roper collected four pr pants, three pr leggings, a jumper, a couple of cute shirts, a pair of realllly cute pjs, a winter jacket and a gift for our new step grand nephew.
We did NOT buy the fireman boots for Julie or the really cute outfit that Katie picked out for Julie that was just a bit too small.
At checkout the very nice clerk gave us a coupon that a previous customer couldn't use and was about to expire so she left it for somebody else to use for 25% off any sale $40 or more. We got out for under $100.
We stopped once again in the food court for some really good ice cream and another ride on the carousel before heading home.
On the way out the door Roper ducked into Bath and Body Works for clearance bubble bath and body lotion. (The girls love bubbles.)
Both girls fell asleep on the trip home. Katie woke up when we got there, but Julie is still asleep in Daddy's chair.
Since we are almost at the end of pool season Daddy took Katie for a swim.
They are home now so I should go down and make dinner.
All in all, a nice Sunday.
