We Went To Sweet Baby Ray's For Dinner...

Julie was being unusually fussy and when she refused her bottle I let her chew on my fingers. And, lo and behold, I felt something hard and sharp.
She has popped her first tooth!
Lower right incisor.

I'm thrilled.
She's fussy.
Such is life.

Or baby Motrin. Or baby Ambesol. And with #1 son, I actually used the homeopathic teething tablets (dunno if they did any good, but he didn't mind the taste).

A little toy that I found invaluable during teething time was one I bought at Meijer's (also found at WalMart and Babies R Us). It is simply a star on a stick that when chewed, vibrates. Five years ago, it cost about eight bucks, and it was the best money I ever spent on the kids.

The buzzing works in a couple of ways. The massage feels good, and the tooth cuts through quicker. Also, because baby's tooth nerves fire faster from the vibration sensations, they run out of the synaptic gap chemicals that transmit pain from the tooth for a while, and baby is less fussy, without having to wrestle liquid tylenol down in a maybe mess.

Congratulations on all fronts! Including your birthday.

BTW did you know you had a go-go dancing near twin in San Francisco?
