Stranded on the Computer

Ya see, it's Cleaning Lady Day. And I didn't get out of the house before she started doing the floors. So I'm stuck up here on the second floor until the first floor dries. Then, I have to go to the bank and the post office and the craft store and ... oh, lots of places.

I feel a little guilty about still having the cleaning lady now that I'm not working. I certainly have time to sweep and dust and wipe down the kitchen. But, having Yolanda, (that's the cleaning lady,) come every other Tuesday means that every other Monday evening we have to do the pick-up-and-put-away so she can sweep, mop and dust. This keeps the house from becoming a major disaster. There are still minor disasters, like the office and the corner of the greatroom where the stuff I brought home from 16 years at the bank is still piled. And the closets are still a mess. And she doesn't do things like washing windows. And I really need to do the leather furniture with saddle soap like you are supposed to periodically. Stuff like that.

I hear her coming up the stairs so it's probably safe to go down now.
Off to errands.

Well, I think that if having Yolanda come in every 2 weeks helps you keep the clutter under control, and you can afford her, it's fine. Also, before too long there will be a little one that you'll be spending plenty of time taking care of, so having someone there to help w/cleaning then will really be a help, I'd think.

Happy errand running!

I was thinking exactly this, too.
Consider her relatively cheap blood pressure medicine.

We desperately need a "Yolanda." My problem is I'm too much of a paranoid freak to have someone in my house when I'm not there. And we'd feel weird sitting around the house while someone else was cleaning it. And well since we both work we'd have to find someone willing to do said cleaning on Saturday. It's all so complicated.

Once the baby is there, you WILL need her.

And you'll be glad that you don't feel the need to do those things, and can instead play with the baby during that time.

Heh. Been there, done that, hid in the basement. They never go down into the basement. Now that I'm sort of moved into the condo, it is so small I can't justify a cleaning lady anymore. Really. Besides, Tom says he will vacuum. (Maybe I could hire one just until he moves in??)

Now if only I could find someone to unpack all those boxes! And I better get it done before Tom shows up with umpteen boxes of CD's, DVD's and oh my ghod, musical instruments!!!

Hugs!
