And In Today's News...

Katie has her first loose tooth.
lower right incisor.
5 1/2 seems a little early to me, but I didn't lose my first tooth 'till I was 7.
And so we embark upon a new adventure.

Alex lost his first at 4. According to the kids dentist if they got their first tooth at 4 months the lose the first tooth at 4 years. 5 months, 5 years, etc.

That's actually a little bit later than my Kate lost her first tooth, and about when Tom did (they were both in kindergarden).

David's first was loose for nearly 4 months before finally came out (in April(?) with the assistance of the school nurse, at his request). OTOH, we were able to feel the tips of the new permanent teeth as early as last August or September. He turned 6 last October.

Quite a few of his kindergarden class has lost teeth before school started (age range of 5 to 6.5 years at the startof the school year). So yeah, there's a lot of variation :)

I'm reasonably sure that I lost my first teeth (top incisors together) before kindergarten: age 4 through 5 1/2.

My kids got 'em in early (four months old) and lost them early (pre-school and kindergarten).

The tooth fairy leaves our kids dollar coins: Sacajawea for the girl, and Presidents for the boys.
